About Us

History

Sunset Lake was purchased by the Washington Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in 1957. Steeped in the rich history of coal mines and timber camps, Sunset Lake was transformed into a place where young people could meet their Savior in the beauty of nature. That first summer campers spent cold nights in canvas tents, took early morning dips in the lake, and hunted for salamanders along its shore. A lot has changed in 50 years. But one thing will always be the same. Sunset Lake is changing lives because Jesus still has first place on these grounds. He is the reason this camp was founded and He is the one guiding us into the future.

“Sunset Lake had a profound impact on my life ... The summers I spent there gave me an appreciation for the quiet times with God ... “ Brian, Kirkland, WA
Sunset Lake will always hold a special place in my heart ... Lori, Tempe, AZ
