The summer camp experience at Sunset Lake as a staff member is like no other. Be a part of something that matters and have a blast along the way. Department Directors
These staff form the camp’s leadership core. They must be at least 21 with one year of camp experience. Department Directors supervise staff, shape camp culture, and direct programs. Roles include Village Directors, Program Director, Small Classes Director, Horsemanship Director, Challenge Course Director, Waterfront Director, Maintenance Director, Chaplain, and Audio Visual Director.

Camp Counselors
Counselors are the front lines of our camp ministry. They guide cabins of 6–9 campers and provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment for their campers. Counselors must be at least 18 years of age, have an active Christian experience, and a love for sharing Jesus with kids.

Class Instructors
Activity Instructors provide supervision and instruction in the classes and activities of camp. Most teaching areas require prior skills, knowledge, and training. Horsemanship, Challenge Course, and Aquatics all require onsite training and certifications. Most activity areas require that staff be at least 18 years of age.

Support Staff
Support staff keeps our camp running. Office staff, Maintenance, Scheduling, Food Services, Laundry, Audio/Visual, Programming/Party Planner and Worship Leader are all critical positions that keep the fun happening. Some positions on this team are open to staff that are 17 years of age.

Volunteer Staff
Whether you’re staff alumni or you’re brand new to Sunset Lake, we always welcome volunteers at Sunset Lake. This opportunity is great for those looking to experience camp for 1 or 2 weeks or even the whole summer. You will still have to go through the application process and supply three references.
