Allison’s Story
Allison had been coming to Sunset Lake every summer since she was eight. Now at seventeen, she was beginning her final week as a camper.
“I used to think it was enough to have Jesus one week out of the year,” she said. “But now I know I need Him every day.”
On her last day at camp, Allison was baptized.
Stories like this don’t happen by accident. They are the result of vision, prayer, and a community that believes in the life-changing power of camp.
The ministry of Sunset Lake is a shared climb—a journey of faith that takes all of us.
We’d love for you to join us on Expedition 2025, our annual campaign to build a strong, vibrant camp for the next generation.
Our Objective
Sunset Lake is seeking to raise $120,000 by the end of 2025 to support the following key areas:
1. Vision Partner Fund – $40,000
This year’s Vision Partner Fund will support several vital projects, completed as funding allows:
New Audio-Visual System for Timber Lodge – $14,000
The Timber Lodge has never had its own dedicated sound system. Now that it’s been remodeled and is in higher demand, it’s time for an upgrade. This project includes new speakers, a digital board, wireless microphones, keyboard, TV monitor, and equipment rack.Refinished Gym Floor – $8,000
The gym’s floor finish has deteriorated since its construction over a decade ago. It now needs to be re-ground, re-striped, and refinished. By using our in-house team, we’ll save more than $15,000 compared to outside bids. This work will take place during the winter slow season.Timber and Cascade Village Upgrades – $12,000
Our main cabins need refreshed bathrooms and flooring. Funds will go toward new floors, efficient ventilation fans, and refinished walls and ceilings.Guest Room Remodel – $6,000
Several guest rooms need updates to better serve our year-round groups and families.
2. Camper Scholarship Fund – $10,000
Since 2007, Sunset Lake’s scholarship program has raised more than $500,000 to ensure that no child is turned away from camp because of financial need. While a separate fundraiser is planned for May, these early gifts will give us a strong start for 2025.
3. Dining Hall Campaign
We aim to begin construction on our new dining hall by August 2028.
Our goal is to secure anchor gifts totaling 50% of the $3.5 million cost by the end of 2026 to launch this transformational project.

4. The Ranch at Sunset Lake - $30,000
As our horsemanship grows, we need to expand our herd from 10 to 14 horses. $20,000 of the money raised will go toward horse purchases. This will reduce costly horse rentals in the summer and allow us to better serve year-round guests through rides and lessons. The remainder of the money raised will go for facility improvements around the barn and equipment purchases.
