Sunset Lake's Commitment to Well-being

We value each of our campers, guests, and user-groups and are committed to your continued health and well-being. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunset Lake is currently closed to all public access until at least April 8. We have also canceled all our user groups through the end of April. These timelines will likely be extended as the crisis continues.

In these uncertain times, there are four commitments we’d like to make to you.

  1. We’re not going anywhere — We love being together with all of you, so this time of separation is hard. But we intend to weather this storm and come out the other side stronger than before. This crisis will end. It may change us all in ways we can’t fully understand. But as soon as it is legally and safely possible, we look forward to welcoming you all back to Sunset Lake.

  2. Our commitment to ministry is unwavering — While it appears all but certain that our summer camp program will be altered in some way for the 2020 season, we are committed to doing all we can to maintain our mission of grace, community, adventure, and belonging.

  3. We will keep you informed — Over the next few weeks decisions will be made regarding summer camp and we will keep you up to date here with the latest news. Our decisions will be based on the best information from local, state, and national authorities and a desire to ensure the health and safety of all who come onto our grounds.

  4. Sunset Lake will always be rooted in Hope — Our world feels out of control, but our confidence is in a God who is bigger than any crisis. He cares about you and your family and he has a plan for your life. We invite you to join us in claiming the promise of Philippians 4:6-7.

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” (MSG)
